CHALLENGE – February 2017

What a Blessing February 2017 has been… I have rediscovered that people are inherent Good - In fact, AWESOME! As you are aware a Challenge was put forward by one of our good friends….and we managed with all your support to meet the Challenge and raised R37, 950.00! The total amount of R72, 950.00 will go a long way towards Educating, feeding and transporting the children daily, extending my office,

put up our water tank and restart our veggie garden. All I can say is THANK YOU A THOUSAND TIMES. The Challenge Sponsor wishes to remain anonymous; everybody is guessing who he may be!!!! Sometimes I am tempted to spill the beans……. But have to take a step back. All I can say that he is an awesome man with a beautiful wife – their hearts are in the right place. They reside in Bettys Bay and are such down to earth people, who love our school and the kids. Thank you very much my friend, you are such an INSPIRATION.

Assembling the JUNGLE GYM

Our fantastic “Happy Chaps” members of the Hangklip Men’s Fellowship once again came to the party & re-assembled and erected the Jungle Gym donated by the Pringle Bay United Church. The Happy Chaps donated the screws, and planks for the deck. George, one of the members, contacted companies regarding donating cargo net, and amazingly a company will donate the netting for the school - wonderful stuff. Thanks guys for your continued support -

VALENTINES DAY

The children’s parents each donated R5 and the staff & children celebrated ‘VALENTINES DAY‘ They were all dressed in White and RED and enjoyed playing games in the park. Unfortunately, just as we were about to start the picnic the wind nearly blew everything away. A quick move to the the classroom and the celebration continued. The children had a wonderful time & wanted to know when will it be ‘Valentines Day‘ again.

Thank you each and every one - The kids had a ball and enjoyed the delicious goodies, sandwiches, cold drinks, dried fruit etc.

PADDY AND FRIENDS COLLECTING MONEY IN THE UK

Paddy and friends collecting money (now for the past few years) in the UK for our school. Just like last year they drove through the streets during December collecting. To all of you (even though there was a very pregnant lady amongst you) a very big thanks you, to Dorothy & Denis who contributes yearly, the Luncheon Club who collected weekly, and also all our friends of the Rotary club and last but not least to Helen & Tommy and Pat & Robert who donated money for the school with Paddy & Rons 80th Birthday.

"Snake man” Francois

On the 21st February the Harold Porter Botanical Society sponsored Francois to inform the ‘Penguin Kidz’ parents and the Mooi Uitsig Community of the importance of snakes in Betty’s Bay and surrounding areas. We have 24 different snakes but only a few are poisonous. Many people attended and they were amazed at everything he explained and demonstrated. The audience took photos and even touched the snakes. Thank you very much both Francois and the Botanical Society for a very informative learning experience.
