We write about new storerooms and outings and generous supporters and it feels like high time we talked about our children in the classroom.

Do you know that the two primary schools in Kleinmond are only too happy to enrol our children?

It’s a compliment to the quality of the lessons learned at Pikkewynties because the reasons the schools want our children are that they are polite and well-behaved, they are socially well-adjusted and academically thoroughly prepared. Our dedicated principal and her staff do a wonderful job. They, like thousands of other remarkable South Africans are heroines. They never hit the headlines but they are at work every day in remote areas in small communities to give our nation’s children a work ethic and an education so they can put poverty and despair behind them forever.
